Thursday, September 12 saw the official opening of the Bessemer to Ramsay extension of the Iron Belle Trail. Your friendly Chamber blogger noted a goodly group of cars at the Ironwood Depot (beside the trail) and Bessemer “midpoint” and a number of them had out-of-state plates–proof that the Iron Belle is growing each year as an outstanding bike and hike recreational (and even contemplative) landscape journey. Many years in the making, with both local and State of Michigan funding, the Iron Belle Trail and its friends & supporters continue now with the planning for the next extension, from Ramsay to Wakefield. Entering Fall now, this trail ride or hike will be a profoundly beautiful palette of natures colors!
