September Falls In

With the Labor Day weekend now past, and the date of this blog writing being Tuesday, September 2, all thoughts U.P. here turn toward the changing landscape/daylight happenings.  While it is early here yet in Ironwood for leaf color change, folks out on the trails have started reporting increasing instances of isolated yellows and reds.  You can get a grand overview and watch the daily changes here on Ironwood’s Mt. Zion overlook webcam:  https://www.ipcamlive.com/mtzionlive    For those who are looking for Fall Color projections, here is a good (free) site:  https://funintheup.com/fallcolors/upper-peninsula-fall-color-report.html  [please note that a Substack — fee required– of this information is being developed, but for now the FunintheUP site is free and contains a bunch of other U.P. travel information.

Only a few miles from the city of Ironwood, both Little Girls Point and Black River Harbor are amazing places to take in the colors of the forest as they meet Lake Superior.  Fall brings many folks U.P. here to experience the best fall color location in the entire United States!  When you are here, don’t forget to stop by the Ironwood Depot and say “hi!’.
