History, culture, and outstanding natural beauty await you on the Western Gateway of the Iron Belle Trail. Adorned by miles of forest, with overlooks of rivers and bluffs, you will pass over multiple railroad bridges and take in historical sites while experiencing the premier recreational opportunity in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Run, walk, bike, or even ski and snowshoe in the winter. Currently, the paved Iron Belle Trail runs from the Montreal River Bridge (the Montreal River is the state boundary between Michigan and Wisconsin) and thence east through Ironwood, Bessemer, and ending at Ramsay (a total one-way distance of about 11 miles). In September, this section of the Iron Belle hosts the annual Bridges & Bluff’s Half-Marathon! https://www.facebook.com/BridgesAndBluffs
