The Ironwood Depot was built in 1892, the passenger service ended in the 1970s and the railroad tracks have been removed.  In their place is a is the Cross-State and Regional bike trail-head and Western UP snowmobile trail-head.  The Ironwood Depot is a museum maintained by the Ironwood Area Historical Society.  The Ironwood Chamber of Commerce office is also in the Depot, and they have area maps and brochures for visitors and folks looking to relocate to the Ironwood area.
