Honoring the Past

The historic Chicago and Northwestern Train Depot in Ironwood is an iconic symbol of the Ironwood community. Currently, the Depot serves as the Ironwood Historical Society Museum and the office of the Ironwood Chamber of Commerce. The Depot roof is over 30 years old and active fund raising is ongoing so that the roof can be redone as soon as possible. The Historical Society 2021 Calendar sale is just such an important fundraising event. Each calendar costs $20 and all proceeds go to the roof fund. This calendar is printed on very heavy paper, and each month has a historic photo-collage that is themed to different aspects of past Ironwood life–from early cars and gasoline stations to lumbering camps. Can’t stop in to the Depot to purchase a calendar in person? Send your check to the Ironwood Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 553, Ironwood, MI 49938 and the Society will mail you a calendar back. Only 400 calendars are printed, so don’t wait! Last year’s sale sold out in early December!
