100 Years! The Gogebic County Fair, August 12-15

Founded in 1921, when the Gogebic Range was in full iron mining flower and Gogebic County had a population of 33,000 people (approximately 11,000 now), the County Fair brought together all the ethnic groups, the miners, the farmers, the kids, and the oldsters to experience the August days of warmth and outdoor fun.  Through the travails of economic change, the Fair has continued to serve as a yearly gathering event for all our county residents.  A place for fun, food, exhibiting talents & skills, live music, and for celebrating great husbandry and horticulture, the Gogebic County Fair begins its second 100 years with lots of great entertainment, activities, and learning experiences.

The Ironwood, Wakefield, and Lake Gogebic Chambers of Commerce, along with all their member businesses and organizations, invite you to visit the fair this year!   Stop by our Chamber booth in the Exhibition building (down at the West end by the 4-H ice cream stand) where you will find free maps, brochures, area guides, as well as the occasional clever repartee!  We will be there every day, Thursday through Sunday, from 9am to 6pm.  Check out the full Fair schedule of events here:     https://gogebiccountyfair.com/
