September 1 marks the beginning of Fall for the U.P. Traveling this past week, I noticed that not only are the leaves beginning to turn (early), but a number of trees are also dropping leaves (most probably due to our year of low precipitation). Nevertheless, recent rains have helped, and one hopes for a full Fall color season. Inquiries into the Chamber office indicate that this year will also see a goodly number of visitors traveling here specifically to enjoy both the cooling temperatures as well as the daily transition of landscape color from green to multi-color awesomeness. If you are one of them, stop into the Ironwood Chamber office in the Historic Ironwood Depot and pick up some U.P. maps and guides.
