The “Season” has arrived!

As the picture from the top of Ironwood’s Mt. Zion shows, things U.P. here are green at last.  School is out, and folks are on the move–both outdoors and on the road.  Summer is short U.P. here, but everyone knows how to make the best of it, and pack 12 hours of activity (or rest!) into 12 hours of daylight.  Want to know what’s happening on the Iron (“Fe”) Range??  Go to our community all event calendar here:  https://felivelife.org/   Traveling to our area?  Stop in at the Chamber Depot office (Monday through Saturday, 7am to 12 noon and most times later).  I have maps (you need them up here–don’t place all your confidence in GPS or your cell phone!), area guides, and special points of interest brochures.  Get your 2026 Gogebic Times guide here as well along with the  Ironwood Destination Guide.  The Ironwood Historical Society Depot museum has new displays for 2026 and in July and August, the museum will host a photography exhibit from the Emberlight Festival of the Arts https://emberlight.org/  And–don’t miss Festival Ironwood, July 15-18, here at the Depot and Depot park!  Four days of free entertainment! Friday is “kids day” and Saturday brings the huge Arts and Crafts Vendor event and the Old Depot Classic Car show.  Evening food specials include wood-fired Chicken Feed (Thursday) and Friday Fish Fry.  Check out the full schedule here:  https://ironwoodchamber.org/festival-ironwood/
